The Master Artist, author and poet, LeRoy Clarke, passed away at his home The Legacy House in Cascade. Born in Belmont on November 7, 1938, Clarke, was 82 and was the first artist in Trinidad and Tobago to be conferred with the title Master Artist by the National Museum and Art Gallery of Trinidad and Tobago. In 2005, Clarke was bestowed with the Staff of Eldership and Chieftaincy title at the sixth Shango/Oshun Rain Festival.
