The Ministry of Health, Trinidad and Tobago, advises the public that, given the emergence of the new COVID-19 Variant of Concern - Omicron (B.1.1.529) COVID-19, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago has imposed travel restrictions on travellers from the following countries, with effect from midnight on the 26th November, 2021,: Botswana, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe


Jamaican Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 47 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths on Saturday, November 27, bringing the infection total to 91,169 and total deaths to 2,388


On December 1, 2021 the St. Lucia Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs confirms a total of 17 new cases of COVID-19. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 13, 017.
To date, a total of 46, 607 individuals have been fully vaccinated.


Jamaica reported 32 new cases of COVID-19 and six virus-related deaths on Thursday pushing the total number of confirmed cases on the island since the outbreak to 91,304 and the confirmed deaths to 2,402. The new cases comprise 15 females and 17 males with ages ranging from two years to 92 years.


At least 32 police officers have either resigned or retired from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Police force, while 13 others have not taken the vaccine under the government’s mandatory programme to get frontline workers vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that has killed 75 people and infected 5 645 others since March last year.


Several teachers have been formally dismissed from their jobs for failure to take a COVID-19 vaccine as mandated without medical or religious exemptions, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers' Union (SVGTU) confirmed.


More than 74 per cent of the Jamaican population remains unvaccinated against COVID-19. This is one of the lowest vaccination rates in the entire Caribbean region. Only 19.9 per cent of the population had received a first dose or had been fully vaccinated ; among the 19.9 per cent, some 5.7 per cent had received a first dose only.
