Barbados Ministry of Health & Wellness recorded 586 new COVID-19 cases - 266 males and 320 females - from the 2,219 tests conducted on Tuesday, February 8. The cases comprised 98 persons under the age of 18, and 488 who were 18 years and older. Since February 2020, the Barbados Ministry of Health & Wellness recorded 49,958 COVID-19 cases (23,165 males and 26,793 females). As at February 8, the death toll from COVID-19 stood at 289. According to a press release from the office of the Prime Minister today, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre has been tested positive for Covid. The prime minister is currently at home isolating and has been showing no symptoms other than feeling tired, according to a reliable source.
